Monochromatic
JAPAN. Kyoto. 2010.
One of a large collection of great portraits. Well seen!
Ive always been interested in the word for photography in different languages. In Japanese the word for photography is shashin which can be translated as truth copy. A pretty different conception of the medium from photographys painting with light.
The moment I opened the picture, my eyes focused on the subject. Excellent tonal gradation!
